48 years ago, on 16 December 1971, the Indian Army warned of a decisive battle against the Pakistan Army. 93,000 soldiers of the Pakistan Army surrendered under the leadership of Pakistan Army Commander Lt. Gen. A Niazi and with this surrender the 13-day war ended with the birth of Bangladesh. The defeat of the Pakistan Army by the Indian Army in this war of 1971 was one of the most decisive and common sacrifices in contemporary Indian history.
Today, we celebrate Vijay Diwas – dedicated to the entire Indian Army, remembering the sacrifice, valor, service and patriotism of those Indian martyrs. About 3,900 Indian soldiers were killed and about 9,851 were injured in the war. Each brave soldier who got injured has his own story, some of them are written below.
The wounded in the Gorkha Rifles was Major General Ian Cardozo of the battalion. His story is legendary. After placing his dynamite on the tunnel, he cut off his own leg with his khukri. Once the war ended, he continued to serve and became the first petty officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade.
Today is an appropriate day not only to celebrate the victory of 1971, but also to bridge the gap in the understanding of stress and tension among soldiers. Some destinies like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) such as neurosis, psychosis, hypertension, heart, etc. should be labeled as “lifestyle”, all of which can improve their quality of life.
Soldier has no lifestyle. Soldiers have a way of forest. A soldier does not see the profit and loss of any mission and the effect of the other. Our soldiers are not like that. They see mission and country before themselves.
Our soldiers serve in some of the most important forward posts in the world’s most exclusive battlefield and designated areas in the extreme like – Siachen. Away from their families for long periods, their service is far more physically and mentally demanding and harsh than the rest of us, and this suggests that military personnel are more likely to be unbalanced. Is.
It is really alarming that between 2011-2019 around 900 soldiers committed suicide due to mental stress. It signals to us that our soldiers need attention. Let alone war, tensions and strains within the service need to be well communicated by all countries around the world. Here, in India too, unfortunately, younger soldiers suffering from high stress levels and other ailments are released from service without regular pension or disability benefits. What has been told to them is a matter of great shame for us too. ,\
Ultimately many are waging long legal battles up to the Supreme Court for their legitimate disability benefits, despite the Supreme Court, and according to the unemployed, holding that for a soldier enlisting in fit medical condition, any disability during service is deemed to affect Goes goes.
A few months ago, during a briefing on the functioning of the Police Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, concerns were raised over the exposure of SEALs to long refills on passengers who were away from home. Home Minister Amit Shah then immediately said that all Central Armed Police Forces and the Assam Rifles were instructed to digitize re-enlistment details, so that each youth could spend at least 100 days a year with his family. Cohabitation may be facilitated, which may cause some change in their mental state.
Another good example has been commissioned by the Tibetan Police Force (ITBP) which has taken appropriate progressive steps by recruiting education and stress counselors, a special cadre at the lower level specifically aimed at dealing with stress.
PM Narendra Modi had announced to reduce the partners after taking charge in 2014. Since then, the government takes a sensitive approach on matters of minor aspects. In 2015, former Defense Minister Mr. Grace Parrikar constituted a committee to suggest measures to reduce the contract and public project. In February 2019, the clearing house, GSGS Nirmal Nigam, had announced appeals against pension cases back to one feet size. Which is a positive step towards the welfare of our small workers.
Also there is a need to have a more stable and robust system of creators who can leave the age-old way of making and complain with immediate speed.
